Scraps Beget Scraps

Before appliqueing the circle onto the center of this star I cut out the back just inside the stitching.  Look what I ended up with:   more scraps!

Scraps beget scraps.  I guess these are second or third generation scraps.  When I sew these into more scrappy backgrounds and cut behind the stars, they will become more scraps -- third or fourth generation.  Maybe scraps never died.

I'm linking this post to Scraptastic Tuesday at Mrs Sew and Sow.  Thank you, Nicky.

Happy stitching, napping, sewing, quilting, whatever you're doing!

  2. No they never die - they just keep replicating! The stars - both of them - are great! Guess you can start another star quilt then? Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday

    1. Thanks, Nicky. I could start another star quilt but I don't think I will. I doubt my success in turning under all those seams to applique them. It's a fun idea, though.

  3. Yes, yes, another star quilt. And then an even smaller one with the stars that result from that one! Now *there's* a series quilt project! 8)

    1. I had thought about doing scrappy stars on plain backgrounds but can't bring myself to turn under all those seam edges to applique them. It's a fun idea, though. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment, Gayle. (P.S. Your comment come to my email box but as a no-reply blogger. Don't know what happened with that.)
