Almost a Quilt Top

I've been cutting and sewing, snipping, ironing, then cutting and sewing some more.

Squares, rectangles, triangles....  It's such a scrappy thing with prints, plaids, plains, in greens, reds, blues, and browns, all together in the same quilt.  I love scrappy quilts for babies.  (Well, let's just be honest:  I love scrappy quilts period.)

All that sewing and finally, blocks are becoming rows.

I hope to have a finished top by the end of the week.

  2. Love how it is coming together, Nancy. I love scrappy quilts, too, and I think they are a fun look for baby quilts. Kind of unexpected, which I like. : )

    1. Thank you, Janet. I'm more inclined to go very scrappy and colorful on baby quilts, less so on quilts for beds, napping, or adults in general.

  6. Wow, what a fun, scrappy quilt top. It looks like you're able to use up a lot of leftovers. Always a good thing.

    1. Thanks, Gypsy Quilter. It was great to use leftovers but imagine how many I could have used for a big top! Maybe I'll have to make another one....

    1. Thanks, Pam. It seems like I haven't yet narrowed down my "style" of quilting so I'm all over the place. I think the bright, scrappy ones are fun to make but they are not my favorite to use at home.

  8. I'm with you. I so love making scrappy quilts!
For me, people clean out their sewing rooms and keep me well stocked with scraps. Working hard now to actually start doing more with them. That's why last week I was just busy with cutting only.

    1. I would love to have people give me scraps (though I don't really need any). I think it would be fun to have a different variety of scraps. Good for you to cut and organize yours.

    1. Thanks, Kathy. You must not be one of those people who needs a rest after a vacation? I usually do. Have fun shopping.

    1. Those stars have a really strong presence, don't they, Karen? Did you post a photo of your quilt? I'd love to see it.
