Primitive Stars for Slow Sunday Stitching

The day's almost over but I've been able to put a few stitches into these wheel-like stars for a "Sweet Land of Liberty" block I'm making for Lorl's sew-along at Humble Quilts.  They've already been rearranged again since this photo, for maybe the third or fourth time.  Trivia question:  How many ways can three colors be arranged?  Surely not that many!  But then I've tried a few other colors, too....  I think I've settled on the colors above.  Except maybe that green....  (Oh, my indecisive nature.)

I love the opportunity Sunday provides to set aside worldly things, focus on the things of God, attend church and renew covenants, and generally find peace in my world.  I hope you have, or have had now that it's evening, a quiet, peaceful Sabbath.

I'm linking this post to Slow Sunday Stitching at Kathy's Quilts.  Thank you for hosting, Kathy.

  1. Love your star/flowers! Beautiful! I couldn't make mine look right so I settled for plain stars.

    1. Thank you, Jann. Cheri's stars are a little (maybe a lot) out of kilter. I think it's the idea of stars and yours look perfect to me. Everyone seems to be adapting and adjusting the quilt to make it her own. I think that's one of the great things about Cheri and her patterns.

  2. I fuss with my color placement which can slow my project down. Some Sunday stitching at the end of the day can be quite relaxing. I look forward to Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching every week even if some days I am unable to stitch.

    1. Yes, when we fuss (or as some might say, play) with colors placement things do slow down a bit. For me, nearly everything before cutting and sewing take me longer than the cutting and sewing. I hesitate, am indecisive, reconsider colors, play, and eventually cut and sew.

I like Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching, too. I don't always get to participate or even check the links but when I can, it's a pleasure.
