Working on a Callous

I forgot how long it takes to develop a callous on my index finger when I haven't quilted for a month.  This was a few days ago.

Today it looks like this.  It's coming along but it's still tender.  It will be a few days before I can quilt longer than half an hour at a time.  I can wear a thimble on my middle finger but not on my index finger.

My goal is to finish hand quilting a 72" x 90" High Five by the end of March. I have some serious quilting to do!

  1. There is a product that is like a heavy piece of tape that sticks to your finger. It works great. It's called ' thimble it'

  2. Ouch! That looks painful. I hope it hurries up and heals!

  3. I've had that happen too. Not fun. I have seen those little pads you wear on the tip of your finger. I haven't used them, but it might be an option...for both of us!

  4. I know what it means to have a calus like that. I'm sure that the cause is worth it. Good luck! Remember a little at a time goes along way.

I appreciate your comments and look forward to reading what you have to say. Thanks for stopping by.
