There were 19 leaf blocks left to quilt at the beginning of May. My One Monthly Goal was to quilt 10. I'm pleased to say that I quilted 12½ of them this month. Just 6½ to go! Maybe next month will be the one in which I finish this (long-lasting, never-ending, we're-tired-of-seeing-it) quilt.
I'm linking this post to One Monthly Goal May Finish Link-Up at Elm Street Quilts. Thanks for hosting, Patty.
--Nancy.
I never tire of seeing any of your projects reappear, Nancy. Always interesting chatter about them.
ReplyDeleteThe Morgan House quilt is a beauty and that pink/rose fabric is wonderful...think I said that already. Amazing all the names for these blocks and who knew there were so many. Also all the layout possibilities for basic dresden fans. That was a wonderful quilty part of the post to read.
However so sad to hear about little Jack. I know well how it feels to lose a pet and he sounds like he was a wonderful and unique cat too. I really think the right choice was made as hard as that was.
You're so kind about my on-going and almost continuous posts about the same quilt, Jocelyn. Thank you.
DeleteI still haven't figured out the exact name of the blocks or layout for the Morgan House quilt.
I know letting Jack go was the only real option but so very heart-breaking, too, especially for my daughter.
Oh it's really coming along, Nancy--I for one don't tire of seeing those gorgeous leaves...can't wait to see it all quilted....hugs Julierose
ReplyDeleteThank you for your support and encouragement, Julierose. One of these days it will be finished!
Deletei'm not tired of seeing it....love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Grace. You're so kind.
DeleteI absolutely LOVE this quilt!! Show it as many times as you'd like. While I'm looking forward to seeing the completed quilt, I have enjoyed the progress photos along the way!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joyful. I hope I still love it too by the time it's finished.
DeleteYour quilting is beautiful; just keep going in those odd minutes and it will soon be finished.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marly, for both the kind comment about my quilting and the encouragement to just keep going. I know if I stop it won't get done and I know I wouldn't start quilting another until this is finished. I hope to finish the quilting this month!
DeleteNot tired of it. Love it every time it surfaces. Congrats on exceeding your goal!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Janet. You're so kind!
DeleteHand quilting is a wonderful pass time! I love the dimples that it creates. Well worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to be able to sit and hand quilt for a while, QuiltGranma. I find it relaxing. I think the dimples are fun, too, and I especially like what happens after the quilt is washed and dried. Thanks!
DeleteGreat job. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patty.
DeleteThe last full-size quilt I hand quilted took me over four years. Persevere, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWow, Sandy, what dedication to spend 4 years quilting. None of mine have taken that long but I would probably keep going and just take breaks along the way. I just put the last stitches in this quilt an hour ago. I'm thrilled!
