I have just three links this week, and two are quilt-related! Enjoy.
I loved this brief video about how one man is saving and rehoming Snowy Owls to prevent them from causing problems for airplanes and the airport. It's amazing work for such handsome birds.
Did you see the adorable boat quilt that Claire posted recently? She also posted a photo of a vintage log cabin quilt made from 1" squares and a few of her own beautiful, more modern quilts.
Here's encouragement for quilters starting new quilts when they have unfinished quilts! Taryn has a great point of view on this topic.
I hope you have a good week!

Thanks for the links. We have a snowy owl who comes every winter--maybe she nests in the reaches of the marsh that have trees? So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both quilt links, thanks so much. Darling Ships quilt!
And second essay by Taryn is so meaningful. She's a gifted writer as well as a wonderful quilter/ designer. I do finish most of my quilts, but it may take me a long time to arrive at that last stitch in the binding. I am more likely to abandon quiilts I have planned and pulled/ saved/ ordered fabrics for. They never get started, tho I sometimes wish they had.
thanks again
lizzy
You're welcome for the links, Lizzy.
DeleteHow wonderful to have a snowy owl nearby! Do you see her (or him) often? They are beautiful, aren't they?
I'm glad you enjoyed the quilt links. I think the ships quilt would be a bear to make but I'd love to make one -- or better said, I'd love to have made one.
But you could go back to the fabrics you pulled, saved, and ordered and make the quilts? I have ideas for quilts that never get started, too. For me, that's probably better than starting and not finishing.
Hi, thanks for the links…interesting and those quilts are beauties.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome for the links, Jocelyn. Yes, I agree, some beautiful quilts!
DeleteThank you for the video about Snowy Owls!!!!! It is wonderful. The birds are gorgeous. I am amazed at the fellow who has dedicated his life to saving those wonderful animals.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Carol. I remembering seeing a PBS show about snowy owls a few years ago. One of the things I remember is how silently they are able to fly. I'd love to see one in person. I think the work of the man who saves them is a labor of love!
DeleteI'm still trying to figure out whether you have a blog and, if so, what it's URL is. I'd love to visit!
