Happy New Year, 2025!

Happy New Year to you and yours.  I hope this year brings a bounty of good things to each of you (and to my family and me, too).

Are you anticipating 2025 with enthusiasm or dread?  Personally, I'm glad to see the backside of 2024 (good riddance, I say), though I'm not sure I have as much enthusiasm and anticipation for 2025 as the little girl in this postcard seems to express.

I forgot about the annual accomplishment/finishes/year in review posts so many publish around this time of year.  I'd participate but I had zero quilt finishes in 2024.  I had the bright idea to post the number of blocks I made but decided I didn't have the energy to count them--not that there were so many but that they were scattered around and I would have had to dig them out.  I sewed scrappy stars, 1" scrappy nine-patches, zinnias in little plaid baskets, Bramble Blooms I center block, and, at the beginning of the year, quilted part of Everyday Patchwork.

I'm hopeful that 2025 will be better than 2024.

Again, Happy New Year!

  1. 2025 must be better than 2024! I'm hoping/planning to get some finishes in this year.

  2. I am, I must admit, anxious about 2025 and what lies ahead for us all.
But I am also trying to keep upbeat and hopeful ...as much as I can. I want to continue to enjoy my limited sewing time and working on my journals.
Trying to "stay in the moment" more and not over worry what is to happen over which I really have no control.. ;(((
    take care hugs, Julierose ;)))

  3. I agree w Julierose, I fear events to come in 2025---our county and world seem so divided and conflicting.. Like you I don't think I have any finishes for 2024---but who cares! The pleasure is in the making, within our own creativity. Tho I always admire your projects.

  4. I didn't get as much done this last year either. I'm sure you got some sewing done, just not finishes. I've only done BBI too and I haven't quilted it. I need to figure out a way to look forward to things instead of dreading them. I hope 2025 brings you good health and positive thoughts.
