It's been a while since I've posted interesting links. I'm not keeping up very well these days but here are a few that I enjoyed reading/viewing. I hope you do, too.
These paintings by Lisa Congdon look very quilt-like to me. Which brings up the question, once again, of why paintings are art and quilts are craft....
I love the creativity and beauty of these pieces of clothing made of used teabags, even if not quite wearable. Also, see the artist's paintings on teabags.
This post might help you stretch your quilting dollars.
I found these Fossil Garments fascinating. I would be happy to know that the garments were past repair....
Wow! This is not the first time I've seen Ellen Harding Baker's “Solar System” Quilt but every time I see it I am amazed all over again. This post shares a photo and a brief history of the quilt and its making .
I hold in highest regard the men and women of the resistance who were courageous and worked to saved so many during the Holocaust. What an honorable man Adolfo Kaminsky was! Read a brief article here.
Take care,
Nancy.
I enjoyed all the links, but the teabag art really grabbed me. I kept clicking on the extra links at the bottom to see more. Wow! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Janet, those tiny drawings and paintings were amazing!
DeleteYou're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed the links.
The Fossil garments are fascinating tho I find the destruction of the antique garments worrisome. I will enjoy reading the other links this weekend, thanks! lizzy
